About Us

At Kynetix, we are revolutionizing rehabilitation and assistive mobility with a cost-effective, innovative lower-limb exoskeleton. Designed for individuals recovering from injuries or facing reduced mobility, our technology enables faster recovery, greater independence, and improved quality of life.

With global ambitions, we aim to set new standards for assistive technology, making advanced mobility solutions accessible not only for rehabilitation but also across industries where mobility and performance are critical. From healthcare and workplace safety to high-performance applications, our exoskeletons are designed to transform lives and industries alike.

By merging cutting-edge engineering with intuitive design, Kynetix is shaping the future of assistive mobility—globally.

Our Story

A Vision Born in a Garage

Kynetix was founded in 2022 by Benjamin James Granrud, but the journey began long before that. Since the age of 15, Benjamin has been building exoskeletons in his parents' garage, driven by a passion for innovative design and technology, aiming to push the limits of human mobility.

In 2023, Kynetix took a major step forward when Clemens Kerschner (mechanical engineer) and Mads Solem (computer engineer) joined the team. Together, they propelled Kynetix into a fast-growing force in bionic technology, combining into a team with experience in industrial design, mechanical engineering, and computer science to create cutting-edge exoskeletons.

Breaking Barriers with Innovation

At Kynetix, we are developing a lower-limb exoskeleton designed to assist individuals with muscle diseases, elderly people, and those undergoing rehabilitation. Our latest prototype is estimated to reduce strain by up to 20 kg during heavy movements and 8 kg during lighter activities, significantly easing physical effort.

This breakthrough has already gained recognition, earning us support from NTNU Discovery, Equinor and Aneo —key milestones in bringing our vision to life. But this is only the beginning.

With global ambitions, we aim to set new standards for assistive technology, making advanced mobility solutions accessible not only for rehabilitation but also for industries where mobility and performance matter. Our technology has the potential to transform multiple sectors, from healthcare and workplace safety to high-performance applications. By combining cutting-edge engineering with intuitive design, Kynetix is shaping the future of assistive mobility—globally.

A Future Defined by Bionic Excellence

Our mission is clear: to take bionic technology to new heights and redefine assistive mobility. We are not just building exoskeletons—we are bringing together Norwegian innovation and international expertise to create a global brand that is shaping the future of mobility.

Unlike existing solutions, our focus is on making exoskeletons more affordable, accessible and design driven. By combining efforts from different fields and nationalities, Norway and beyond, we are developing solutions for both personal and professional use—empowering individuals to regain mobility and independence, while also enhancing efficiency and safety across industries.

By working across far-reaching sectors, we are ensuring that our technology is adaptable, scalable, and built for real-world impact. Instead of limiting bionics to specialized medical settings, we are making wearable, everyday solutions that can integrate seamlessly into people’s lives.

With our next prototype set for completion by summer 2025, Kynetix is well on its way to transforming the future of bionics, rehabilitation, and mobility solutions.
